Hey guys it is Casey back here yet again with yet another post and sorry for it being so long since the last post but I just have not been needing to do it until today so what I am doing is just an update here is art as we head into term 3
This here is my current progress for my folio and I have my logo done with only two characters to design along with a poster and debut cover.
For context, this is meant to be a comic book company like DC and MARVEL.
My current next step is character designs where I am having a dragon and a man and I am currently working on the dragon as you can see in the bottom left of the panel. I will make face on versions of all of those concepts and then I will have a page of various poses and a final design to finish it off.
I will do the same for the man which will then complete the character creation section of the brief that I have set myself.
This is my checklist as I see that I have done throughout the year.
In terms of what is working and what is not, I find that my plan of how to present this that I have in my mind is working so far with it being concept, iterate, and final.
The stuff that is not working for me is practically non existent as I cant think of anything that is not working in the moment of writing this so I am not to worried as of yet.
My next step right now is to finish off the dragon concepts by the end of this week to next week so I can get on with drawing the human character for my design folio.
Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I shall see you all in the next post bye bye.
Kia ora Casey
ReplyDeletethank you for posting. I wonder if you want to possibly add a piece where yoiu compare your horse heads to your frontal view heads of dragons? And then discuss your understanding of foreshortening in regards to both. I cannot think of another animal that is going to be similar in terms of mass and structure. I personally feel an alligator or crocodile are a bit flat in comparison to what you are trying to achieve, but if you can think of something, you should definitely mention it!
Did we talk about body forms and forming these next? If not, we should. Also, Have you tried out Blender as an animation program? https://www.blender.org/
It has been a few years since I used it, so I would struggle, but I think you possibly have the stickability and persistence to get through and learn it well. I would love to see you have a go at making your dragon in this program.
