Re: New recycling system

As per your request for the review of the new waste disposal method, please find the following information below

  • staff have been happy regarding the new system implemented
  • the system is being used mostly correctly aside from a few confusions
  • there are a few staff members who consider it a waste of time but do follow the rules
  • the food bin is not being emptied enough and is reeking a non desirable smell
In conclusion the few things that I would recommend fixing would be that the food bin is emptied more often than what it currently is. Add a note to each bin with examples of each item to avoid any future confusion. Aside from those few things, The system is working as it should be.

Anyway i hope you all enjoyed this and I will see you all in the next post bye bye

Dear Mr Sampson

Thank you for your email on (3rd May 2016). We are very sorry for the way you were treated by our staff.

We do not accept this behavior from our staff. The staff member in question has been given a formal warning because of this. They have also been given further customer service training to help prevent this from happening in the future.

Included with this letter is a $50 voucher that can be spent in any department of our store. We hope that you consider shopping with us again in the future.

Kind regards,

Art 2020 term 3 update

Hey guys it is Casey back here yet again with yet another post and sorry for it being so long since the last post but I just have not been needing to do it until today so what I am doing is just an update here is art as we head into term 3
This here is my current progress for my folio and I have my logo done with only two characters to design along with a poster and debut cover.
For context, this is meant to be a comic book company like DC and MARVEL.

My current next step is character designs where I am having a dragon and a man and I am currently working on the dragon as you can see in the bottom left of the panel. I will make face on versions of all of those concepts and then I will have a page of various poses and a final design to finish it off.

I will do the same for the man which will then complete the character creation section of the brief that I have set myself.

This is my checklist as I see that I have done throughout the year.

In terms of what is working and what is not, I find that my plan of how to present this that I have in my mind is working so far with it being concept, iterate, and final.
The stuff that is not working for me is practically non existent as I cant think of anything that is not working in the moment of writing this so I am not to worried as of yet.
My next step right now is to finish off the dragon concepts by the end of this week to next week so I can get on with drawing the human character for my design folio.

Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I shall see you all in the next post bye bye.

Art 2020

Hello and welcome back to my blog posts for the year 2020 and right now i am currently in art and I will be explaining my visual arts planning/course.

My visual arts course this year is based upon design. This is mostly because I enjoy designing stuff and I think that as long as I have a clear idea in my head then this will hopefully not be all that much of a challenge for me as i prefer to use mediums that I am comfortable with instead of those of which I am unfamiliar with. This, I feel like I can communicate the ideas rattling in my brain most effectively. My theme that I have chosen is Personal development/well-being. I have chosen this as it is something that I think I can communicate in a way that I can incorporate a lot of meaning while also applying my interests and thought process to each piece. I also think that personal development is something that we all strive to achieve in life for a variety of reasons,to each their own, and with that I think that I can develop pieces that communicate ideas like that in a way that is both meaningful and amazing. I have also chosen this theme as I think that it is something that I can work with throughout an entire year. I have gone through and taken a look at all the artists in my theme from the  matrix and created my mood board as you can see

At this point in my work I have selected Beatriz Milhazes,Saul Bass and Maui Studios as my Artist models for 2.1. These artists will also help me out with 2.2 as the start of my folio. My kaupapa based on this theme is looking like this:

Art folio board complete

Hey guys it is Casey back here again with yet another post where today I am in art where today I will explain all of my works that I have done over the last year for my folio and although I do not remember the exact date of which these were made but I can give a rough estimate so enjoy

Term 1

These were the first ones off the board that I made using watercolor pencils and they are meant to show the past in my theme with artists using paint and brush most of the time instead of graphite. These were all in the first few weeks and so that is where the entire board began to blossom into something Epic.

This Dragon is the very first that I drew which sprang into a motif that is repeated a lot through this artboard so buckle up. It is supposed to be a drawing that reflects humanity always referring to nature when drawing creatures and the Dragon is no exception because I used a crocodile as a reference image and so this is where the dragon motif began.

If you are into tabletop role-playing games then you know it is the DND ampersand logo an is meant to be that over time, the monsters that kept you up all night millennia ago are now just a thing in pop culture with Dungeons & Dragons being such a pioneer in that minus the satanic panic of the 1980s. Just because a game has demons as an enemy does not mean that the game is practicing satanism general public of the ’80s.
But you get the idea.

This was the first of the starships that I have on this board with it representing the future portion of my theme because if we are going to go interstellar then we need something to get there. It is also a machine of war as you can tell by the guns on the front because humanity has a tendency to go to war over very small things and that is inevitably gonna happen in our space-age when we get there.

Term 2

This little doodle page was something that cam out of me experimenting into the doodle art category in my personal sketchbook and I thought that it looked like something that I could fit into the board. I did that because it would represent artist’s imaginations from all walks of life because I think this would be in the minds of every artist with a lot of ideas all confined into the space no bigger than a small box that we call a brain.

This was the next dragon to enter the ranks of the artboard and is one of my favorite pieces and I experimented with a new technique in order to give it the look of energy seeping from the cracks in its armor. The technique was super simple but man it is really damn effective when done right. I also had some doodles thrown in there because it shows in a visual way, many ideas coming together to form one which is what happens whenever you get a bunch of visionaries in on the same idea, they will suggest more until you get a final product.

This ship is actually an older design that I did in my personal sketchbook a while back which I decided to redraw because we sometimes like to look to the past in order to look into the future and with this starfighter being an older design being revamped, it fits perfectly with what I just said.

This is another one the old ship designs that I decided to resurrect but I decided to tweak a few of the design elements from the original because that is what happens over time as one thing gets transformed into another as time goes on. It also made a classmate of mine think of an old show that had numbered starships and we could not think of what it was until we struck thunderbirds which was not intentional at all but just happened naturally like a lot of things in life.

This is really the only other drawing that is in the present from a timeline perspective on this side of the entire folio and is a gamer playing on his PC and next to him is his Avatar. I actually got the idea from the YouTuber Jazza who did this long before me and I got the spark to do this from him. That is like a thing in the art world with artists inspiring other artists which happens everywhere all throughout history and even to this day.

This is another one of my favorites and is part of the future and trails from the inspiration thing I said from the Gamer piece and the whole idea is that we have had myths of Dragons for centuries and they could also spread into the space-age aswell. I also decided to go with a more cosmic color scheme because it fits with space and is visually pleasing to look at and maybe this is how people of the future will see Dragons-Who knows?.

Term 3

This was the first Dragon for this side of the board and it is basically how you would see someone draw a modern dragon and when I say that I mean artistically. The way the dragon is meant to be is a beast with a lot of detail placed into it which is what we tend to do in art these days unless you are a minimalist but it is the modern-day interpretation of a Dragon in my mind.

This was another Dragon that is meant to be a counterpart to the Dragon up above as it is a medieval interpretation with it being very simple with not a lot of detail. Another thing about it is using body parts from other animals which is most prominent in the legs which are bird legs which makes sense when you think about it. It also a period in time when Dragons would have received their signature features which are still recognized to this day.

This simply did not have any placement on the timeline other than the present as it was just my signature made from doodles which is an artistic way of doing words which a lot of companies do a bunch these days in logos. It also says who the artist is because you see the art style used in that artist’s work which is a thing that all artists do.

This was the final starship that I had and I went for something different and that was giving it a background which I am lacking throughout the entire board so I decided to do that here. It only really connects to the future section because it is a starship and what other era are you gonna find one of those in ?. It also has more detail than the others because starships have a lot of detail in them a good amount of the time.

This one is supposed to be a variety of time periods which you can see most prominently in the border which is a multitude of time periods along with an ouroboros as one of them which represents time. I also made it look like it is centuries old by doing the wet Tea Bag trick in order to give it that parchment look and it turned out great which I am happy with plus this map is going to be part of my next DND campaign so might as well make it look good.

This was one of my favorite works as it just came out really good and I thought of doing a Phoenix mostly because of the fact that they represent time and renewal which with a theme like mine, how could I not do a Phoenix. I also had it so that it was crossing the board connecting the two boards in a visually pleasing way

This is supposed to be the end part of a visual story that correlates with the theme of past present future. this is the future section of the story and I worked backwards because I tend to make story's better like that and this is no exception. If you cannot put the story together, it is basically humanity has fallen to it's greatest enemy of dragons as you can see on the top of the cliff. This was the first idea that I had for the story and so that is why it was the first to be made.

This is a zodiac sign or more specifically my zodiac sign of capricorn and I decided to do it because of its correlation to time, more specifically certain times through out the year and so that is why i did this stylized version of it.

Term 4

These two were done together on the same page because I was running out of space on the board itself but regardless, it still worked well.the top one is set at the beginning during the end of the last ice age with a Dracolich rising from the ice and battling all those who dare come near. The one on the bottom is set during the medieval period and is the reverse of the humanity extinction which is essentially a nice parallel because we only rise to fall.

Anyway this is what the entire board looks like as a whole

Okay so longest post ever. So I hope you guys enjoyed me rant about each artwork for 1500 words and please share with your family and friends and I will see you all next time bye bye

Reading log III The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Hey guys it is Casey back here again with yet another post where today I am in English with my third reading log complete which means I am halfway done with there so yay for me.Anyway the book I have chosen this time is the Maze runner by James Dashner and I loved it and you should all go read it but anyway here are my opinions.

This book is about a teenage boy who only remembers his own name as he comes up into the glade which is at the center of a colossal maze.In the maze, there is giant cybernetic scorpion-like creatures called grievers who kill anyone inside the maze after dark and now, Thomas and the other gladers must fight their way to freedom or starve to death inside this test set by W.I.C.K.E.D.

I personally love the character of Thomas because he is really the audience in a sense because he comes up from the box only knowing his name and so wonders where he is which is pretty much anybody getting into a new series making him in an uncommon way, relatable. Because of his amnesia, he is curious about both the glade and the maze just like the audience and so we learn about the world at the same pace as Thomas. This aspect of the book makes Thomas relatable because when you enter a new place then you are going to want to know as much about it as you can.Thomas also excels in rising above the others by becoming a runner in as little as a week as opposed to other gladers where it takes months to become one. Even though most people can not relate to this aspect, it still makes the audience cheer Thomas on and they want to see him beat the maze and the grievers all so he and the rest of the gladers can escape and find a real home other than the prison that is the Maze.

I also think that the Maze itself is a great setting because the way the maze is described to the audience makes it feel like it has been there for centuries and maybe even millennia.Just the description of the maze further helps make it a great setting and what Newt says really solidifies what it is.”Out there is a maze; Newt whispered, eyes wide as if in a trance.Everything we do - our whole life, Greenie-revolves around the maze. Every lovin’second of every lovin’ day we spend in honor of the maze, tryin’ to solve somethin’ that's not shown to us it has a bloody solution ya know ?. And we wanted to show ya why it’s not to be messed with. Show ya why the buggin’ walls close shut every night. Show ya why you should never, never find your butt out there”. That one quote in my opinion sums up the maze as perfectly as you could probably do and in a way you could say that the maze is both a protector and a tormentor with it closing shut every night to protect the glade from the grievers and a tormentor because of those unlucky enough to find themseelves in the maze after dark. The whole idea of the setting reminds me of the greek legend of the Minotaur imprisoned inside a maze  and the gladers are essentially in the same position. Overall I think that the collossal maze is a great setting in general and the main moral of it could be that the greatest protector can also be the greatest tormentor.

In the end I honestly think that both the setting and the main character help create not only a great world but a magnificent coming of age story. The coming of age metaphor in my mind comes with escaping the maze and the glade is your current world in which you are a kid but out there beyond the maze is adulthood and the road to getting there is challenging just like the maze itself.I think that this is a great metaphor for the intended audience which is young adults and they can learn from this book that even though the road to adulthood is long and challenging, it is nessecary in life because you cannot stay a kid forever. I think that James Dashner had wrote a great interpretation of a great metaphor and that many people can have that even though they would want to stay a kid forever, they cannot and adulthood is just another nessecary gear in the delicate machine that is life.

Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed this post so please share with anybody you think may like this post and I will see you all in the next post bye bye.
